J.D. Gilliam

JD Gilliam is a magna cum laude graduate of Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. He earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University.

JD began his legal career as a prosecutor for the District Attorney's office in Cumberland County, North Carolina. After going into private practice, he opened his own law firm in 2002 in Fayetteville, North Carolina and continues to serve clients in eastern North Carolina. He is pleased to now offer help to clients in northwestern North Carolina too.

JD works diligently to further his legal knowledge and skills through continuing education, reading and research, and attending elder law and special needs law symposiums.

JD prefers to use his legal experience and knowledge helping clients plan for the future and assisting with navigating a crisis of paying for long-term care.

"As an elder law attorney, I often work with families that are facing a crisis. It can be heartbreaking for a spouse and/or children to have to place their loved one in a nursing home. I feel a great responsibility to understand the circumstances and desires of the client and to explain the law and options, so my clients feel comfortable that they have all the information they need to make the best decision for their family."
